Mott MacDonald is hiring a Project Controls Manager to join our team, providing a wide range of purpose-driven PMO and Controls services to clients across infrastructure and the built environment, including global programmes.

What you will contribute to the team:

• Analytical skills to prepare and critically evaluate performance measures (including earned value) and trends across datasets
• Ability to focus on key issues and drive mitigation or recovery actions
• Good people management and task facilitation skills
• Experience implementing robust project controls processes and tools in relevant industries

Requirements for the position of Project Controls Manager:

• Conditional offers may be made upon obtaining necessary security clearance
• Experience on large infrastructure projects in sectors such as water, transport, nuclear, or defence
• Degree or relevant project controls/management qualification (e.g., APMG Planning and Controls, EVM, PMQ, Prince2)
• Flexibility to travel and work across sectors and clients
• Risk management and reporting skills, including ARM
• Proficiency with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling software
• Ability to create and maintain project schedules aligned with project requirements
• Experience reducing project uncertainty through methodology adaptation
• Project reporting and KPI monitoring skills
• Ability to undertake project reviews
• Coordination with multidisciplinary teams and basic cross-sector knowledge
• Comfort working as a consultant within client environments
• Strong stakeholder management experience

Optional but preferred:

• Supporting project managers with change management
• Monitoring and consolidating project plans
• Experience with PMO functions
• Knowledge of PowerBI or similar tools
