Job Description:

Project Controls Lead - Engineering

Bilfinger UK is a leading engineering and maintenance provider supporting customers across various markets including chemical & petrochemical, nuclear, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals & biopharma, power & energy, utilities, renewables, and food & beverage. We focus on enhancing asset efficiency, ensuring high availability, and reducing maintenance costs.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support the engineering project manager (EPM) in monitoring, controlling, and reporting on engineering projects.
  • Manage projects from Concept Design to Execution Design.
  • Handle projects across different sectors such as Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Energy, Utilities, Chemicals, and Food, including medium and large projects, greenfield and brownfield, typically up to 30 hours.
  • Ensure the integrity and effectiveness of planning, scheduling, cost control, project change control, and risk management in line with the contract.
  • Set up project schedules and reporting systems aligned with contract requirements.
  • Update and monitor project schedules and control estimates, collaborating with discipline lead engineers, procurement managers, and EPM, challenging progress reports when necessary.
  • Provide planning and cost data (e.g., histograms, S-curves, performance indices) for progress reports.
  • Identify resource requirement changes for projects.
  • Advise the EPM on strategies to recover from schedule slippage.
  • Identify risks to the project timeline or budget and advise the EPM accordingly.
Experience & Qualifications:

  • Preferred: HND / BSc / BEng / MSc in Engineering or Chartered Engineer status.
  • Qualifications from APE (Association of Planning Engineers) and/or ACostE (Association of Cost Engineers) are advantageous.
