Project Planner/Controller - INSIDE IR35 - £360 per day - WILLING TO UNDERGO SC CLEARANCE - Bristol, HYBRID - 12 MONTHS - SINGLE STAGE PROCESS
Yolk Recruitment is seeking a Project Planner/Controller for a 12-month contract in Stevenage, focusing on security-cleared work in the defence industry.
The Project Planner's key responsibilities include delivering best practice project planning within their sector/project team, collaborating with the Business Performance Management and Technical Teams, and managing the Primavera Integrated Plan Network. They will uphold the company's planning and scheduling standards.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze ongoing progress and performance, compare against contractual and internal targets, and identify variances and their causes.
- Prepare reports and recommend actions to maintain or improve progress.
- Establish and initiate the overall project schedule, ensuring deployment and maintenance to company standards.
- Support the development of planning skills across the project team, coaching members in best practices.
- Integrate all work package plans to achieve an overall network, maintaining the performance measurement baseline.
- Assist work package teams in updating plans monthly.
- Produce, distribute, and report project schedule data, advising on conflicts and corrective actions.
- Manage Earned Value Management (EVM) methodology as required.
- Manage the critical path analysis process according to company standards.
- Build good working relationships with engineers and the broader community to embed project control standards and systems, delivering accurate performance data timely.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Extensive experience with Primavera, SAP PS, and industry-standard computing applications, especially spreadsheets.
- Strong communication skills, capable of working within large, diverse teams across engineering, finance, commercial, and project management disciplines.
- Experience working in a multicultural, pan-European environment.
- Proven commercial and financial management skills.
- A proactive team player with assertiveness, strong negotiation, and arbitration skills capable of inspiring others.
