Job summary

Catering seeks a Project Controller to join our Guildford team. You will lead finance on bidding, ensure accurate costings and apply financial criteria, and work with the Bid Manager to set milestone payment plans.

You will maintain financial control over projects, review costs and forecasts, present status in reviews, and support audits. A relevant professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) and strong Excel skills are desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in a project-related environment, preferably in engineering or manufacturing.
• Understanding of IFRS 15 and project accounting standards.
• Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with S4 Hana (Public Cloud) is advantageous.
• Qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or equivalent degree desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead finance on bidding activities with accurate costings.

Job description

Our client, is currently seeking a Project Controller to join their team in Guildford, Surrey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate as finance lead on bidding activities, ensuring accurate bid costings and application of financial criteria.
• Collaborate with the Bid Manager to establish favourable milestone payment plans and assist in the preparation of bid presentation packs.
• Ensure compliance with the Bid Process and maintain strong financial control over designated projects and bids.
• Work closely with Project Managers to meet financial objectives, regularly reviewing project costs, commitments, forecasts, and overall financial health.
• Present financial status in management reviews and manage project risk registers.
• Resolve queries across functions, ensure high-quality project data, and provide required management accounting data.
• Manage all customer financial reporting requirements and support internal/external project audits.
• Identify and implement improvements to finance and business processes.
• Handle ad-hoc requests from the team leader.

Job Requirements:

• Proven experience in a similar role within a project-related environment, ideally within engineering or manufacturing sectors.
• Understanding of IFRS 15 and project accounting standards.
• Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft tools, especially Excel, and familiarity with project management software like S4 Hana (Public Cloud) is advantageous.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
• Relevant qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent degree is desirable.
