Job summary

Natural Power is seeking a Project Controller to join the PMO team in Glasgow or Stirling. The role focuses on project financial management, including setup, budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and WIP control.

You will collaborate with project managers and the Finance team to safeguard financial performance. The ideal candidate has 2+ years’ experience in project controls or financial administration, with good numeracy and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

  • - 2+ years experience in project financial management, project controls or similar with financial responsibility.
  • - Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • - Flexible and positive approach to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
  • - Able to work in a team and take initiative with good decision-making.
  • - Excellent communication and people skills with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Complete project setup, maintenance and closure in the ERP system.
  • Manage budget tracking, cost monitoring, forecasting, invoicing and WIP for projects.
  • Coordinate inter-company input (MCPR) within Natural Power group.
  • Collaborate with Finance to provide information and respond to queries.
  • Support Project Managers with invoicing inquiries and financial matters.

As we continue to grow, we are now seeking to strengthen our PMO Team team with a Project Controller at our Glasgow or Stirling offices.

The PMO offers a comprehensive range of services across all areas of project management, with a strong focus on project financial management, including project setup, invoicing, Work in Progress (WIP) management, budget oversight, forecasting, process optimisation, and training. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with experience in project management, project controls, or financial administration, with strong numerical and analytical skills and the confidence to support the financial performance of ongoing projects.

Main Tasks:

The role will support the PMO and project managers with:

  • Completing project setup, maintenance, and closure activities within the ERP system.
  • Supporting the financial control of projects through accurate budget tracking, cost monitoring, forecasting, invoicing, and WIP management.
  • Coordinating and supporting Project Managers with the management of inter-company input (MCPR) from other companies within the Natural Power group.
  • Working closely with the Finance team and Financial Accountant to provide information and respond to queries as required.
  • Supporting Project Managers with client enquiries relating to invoicing, fees, variations, and other financial matters.

The ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate:

  • Relevant HNC / HND qualification, Accountancy Degree, or equivalent practical experience, with at least 2 years’ experience in project financial management, project controls, or a similar role with significant financial responsibility.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • A flexible and positive approach, to be able to manage tasks concurrently and react effectively within short timeframes.
  • An ability to work as part of a team, and equally to show initiative, ability, and confidence to make decisions independently.
  • Excellent communication and people skills to effectively engage with and manage colleague and client/stakeholder relationships.

This is a permanent role, working 37.5 hours per week.
