Job Title: Project Controller
Working Pattern: 37 hours days
Working location: Derby
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Controller to join the Electrical System Development Delivery team within Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby.
You will take responsibility for the control and delivery of smaller, lower complexity packages of work. Monitor, review and report the status of assigned scope of work in accordance with the requirements defined in the Project Management Plan and agreed with the Project Sponsor and Project Manager.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location. What you will be doing:
o Generate the plan of work with input from the IPT by creating a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Organisational Breakdown Structure (OBS) and Responsibility Accountability matrix (RAM) for the IPT and deploy to Project Management Plan (PMP) to ensure successful delivery and verification of all the IPT requirement
o Understand the critical path; Drive task completion, communicate process and escalate issues
o Deploy, direct and coordinate resource to complete the planned and agreed scope of work, Capture, understand, agree, document and flow down requirements.
o Accountable for the successful delivery to Cost, quality and delivery for a defined package of work.
o Implement effective risk and opportunity management within the IPT by contributing and managing the Project Risk Register through ARM.
o Provide resource demand to the resource managers and agreement gained through a CAM.
o Manage the allocated budget for the IPT and act as CAM for the IPT, feeding back up to the CAM.
o Provide Programme and Technical leadership and support to the cross functional IPT delivering the allocated work scope.
o Establish a project baseline for the IPT work scope and manage change to the baseline.
Who we’re looking for:

o Degree in a relevant engineering or business discipline or equivalent level of continuous professional development and experience (ideally in the defence engineering environment).
o Project Management experience, showing an understanding of the project lifecycle, risk management, cost management, planning and programming and ability to successfully lead and motivate a team and other stakeholder.
o Strong planning and organising skills to manage short, medium- and long-term activities and deliverables.
o An experienced communicator with the ability to influence and develop strong relationships within cross functional team working, establishing objectives and specific outcomes.
o Knowledge of Electrical commodities and design/make processes is preferred.
o Previous experience of coordinating teams of engineers and design processes is preferred. With a proven track record in project delivery and the ability to operate in a complex environment within the submarine’s enterprise.
