Responsibilities include maintaining plans, tracking progress, managing risks and financials, and coordinating governance across stakeholders. Active SC clearance is required.

  • Ability to create and maintain project plans using Microsoft Project.
  • Track delivery against plans, milestones and deadlines.
  • Manage risks, issues, actions and dependencies.
  • Monitor budgets; report costs vs budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day project controls and support to Programme and Project Managers.
  • Create, maintain and monitor project plans using Microsoft Project.
  • Track project and workstream delivery against agreed plans, milestones and deadlines.
  • Maintain and oversee risks, issues, actions and dependencies.
  • Monitor project budgets, tracking actual costs against allocated budgets and producing regular financial reports.
  • Support supplier orders, invoices and wider project financial administration.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, governance packs and reporting.
  • Coordinate project and programme meetings, including agendas, minutes and action tracking.
  • Chase and challenge stakeholders on outstanding actions and delivery progress.
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support project governance and ensure appropriate processes and controls are followed.
  • Represent Project Managers at meetings when required.

We are looking for an experienced Project Control Officer (PCO) to support a portfolio of projects within a large, complex and highly regulated organisation., Previous experience as a Project Control Officer, Project Controls Analyst, PMO Analyst, Project Support Officer or similar.
  • Experience supporting large projects, programmes or multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong project planning and scheduling experience using Microsoft Project.
  • Good project financial management skills, including budget tracking, actuals, forecasting and reporting.
  • Experience managing risks, issues, actions and project governance.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • APM Fundamentals, PRINCE2 Foundation/Practitioner or equivalent project management qualification.
  • Must currently hold active SC Security Clearance.
Desirable
  • Previous experience within central government, public sector, defence or another highly regulated environment.
  • Experience with Oracle or similar financial management systems.
