Qualifications

  • Degree or HNC level education or equivalent.
  • RICS/CIOB/CICES certifications or active membership.
  • Experience delivering multiple complex projects in water/utilities or civil/infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Provide robust estimates aligned to scope with risk and opportunities.
  • Manage procurement strategies and ensure compliant tender processes.
  • Oversee subcontractors per contract requirements including payments and programme submissions.
  • Maintain robust cost management with live forecasting and cost vs estimates.
  • Keep auditable records for cost assurance and audits.
  • Develop standardised processes across the commercial delivery team.
  • Mentor and develop team members with commercial knowledge and experience.

Job description

Morson Edge are working with a well know Consultancy who are seeking a Project Commercial Manager to join their Water/Utilities division.

Role - Project Commercial Manager

Location - Peterborough

Salary - GBP70k to GBP90k + Bens

Ideal background - Water/Utilities if preference but the client will consider people from Civils or infrastructure.

Key responsibilities:
  • Ensure robust estimates are provided that are aligned to scope and makes due allowance for all risks and opportunities.
  • Manage the procurement process ensuring that all strategies are developed and agreed and that tender processes are followed correctly.
  • Subcontractors are properly managed in accordance with contract requirements including: compliance, communications, payments, compensation events and programme submissions.
  • Ensure robust cost management is undertaken at all times including: accurate live forecasting and actual costs vs estimates.
  • Ensure that accurate and trusted records are kept so that all financial information for audits and cost assurance is readily available.
  • Continually strives to develop processes and procedures to ensure standardisation across the commercial teams delivery process
  • Looks to develop members of the team with commercial knowledge and experience gained over numerous years in industry.
About The Candidate:
  • Educated to Degree/HNC level or equivalent.
  • RICS/CIOB/CICES
  • Delivery of multiple and or complex projects ranging in values from GBP100k to multi-million pound projects with experience of the following:
    • Managing/Leading a team
    • Contract administration (working with NEC suite of contracts)
    • Managing change
    • Procurement
    • Risk and opportunity management
    • Negotiation
    • Estimating
    • Stake Holder management
