Job description

We're looking for a Project Commercial Director to join our Kier Strategic Projects business.

This is a key leadership role where you will be the Project Commercial Director for a major project exceeding £500m in sectors such as Defence, Custodial, Commercial, or Healthcare.

Location: Rushden, with travel to the site and London for meetings.

Contract: Full Time, Permanent – flexible and part-time hours available upon request.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and motivate the commercial team and cross-functional teams including procurement and administration.
• Identify, develop, and retain talent to build long-term organisational capability.
• Leverage scale through demand planning and cross-project procurement.
• Review bids for design and programme to understand full risk profiles.
• Drive creativity and planning to maximise margin and cash flow.

Requirements:

• Proven experience leading large construction portfolios or major projects with strong front-end skills.
• Excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
• Ability to build and develop teams, including recruitment and training.
• Knowledge of contractual frameworks, including NEC contracts.
