Job Description:

We're looking for a Project Commercial Director to join our Kier Strategic Projects business.

This will be a key leadership role where you will be the Project Commercial Director for a major project in excess of £500m in one of our core sectors of Defence, Custodial, Commercial or Healthcare.

Location: Rushden, with travel to the site and London for meetings.

Contract: Full Time, Permanent – flexible and part-time hours available if desired, just let us know.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and motivating the commercial team and cross-functional teams including procurement and administration.
  • Identifying, growing, and progressing potential talent to build long-term organisational capability.
  • Leveraging scale through demand planning and cross-project procurement liaising with other parts of the business unit.
  • Reviewing bids for design and programme to understand risk profiles.
  • Driving creativity and planning to maximise margin and cash flow.

Candidate requirements:

  • Proven experience leading large construction portfolios or major projects with strong front-end involvement.
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build, recruit, train, and retain effective teams.
  • Knowledge of contractual frameworks, including NEC contracts.
