Job Title: Project Buyer
Location: Oxford, United Kingdom
We are seeking an experienced Project Purchase Specialist for our supply chain management team in the UK during a pivotal period of growth. In this role, you will support project procurement activities related to field operations, implementing comprehensive sourcing and procurement strategies that optimize costs, enhance supplier quality, and improve reliability. You will report to the Head of Supply Chain, providing updates on project procurement plans, status reports, vendor management, and risk assessments. Your role is crucial during project execution, ensuring effective management of supplier-related risks and opportunities.
What will you do?
Sourcing Strategy: Act as the supply chain representative on-site, supporting procurement activities for site needs. Ensure all relevant parties understand and execute company strategies and processes. Align project supply chain activities with the sourcing strategies and approved vendor list of the Head of Supply Chain, aiming for optimal cost, quality, sustainability, and delivery performance.
Supplier Relations: Manage relationships with suppliers, including negotiations and purchase orders, in partnership with the Head of Supply Chain. Conduct direct negotiations to meet project target prices.
Procedures: Apply and ensure compliance with company procurement procedures and plans within the project team.
Monitoring: Monitor site expenses and proactively resolve issues related to procurement costs, quality, and delivery.
Process Excellence: Collaborate with the project team to identify new suppliers and ensure vendor prequalification according to company standards.
Documentation: Document general and special conditions for project purchase documents, procurement procedures, and plans, ensuring compliance.
