Project Buyer – Engineering Projects
Location: High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire
Salary:£35,000 - £38,000
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Are you an experienced Project Buyer who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on engineering environment? Do you enjoy being involved in the entire procurement process—right from interpreting technical drawings to supplier liaison and ensuring critical parts are on site, on time?
What You’ll Be DoingYou’ll support complex technical projects across our Equipment Division, working closely with our Senior Project Manager and engineering teams. You'll be responsible for bespoke, project-based purchasing and will play a vital role in keeping high-specification coating systems on schedule.
Your responsibilities will include:
Project-based procurement: interpreting BOMs, technical drawings, and specifications
Raising and managing purchase orders in line with budgets and timelines
Sourcing specialist materials and components for bespoke systems
Managing supplier relationships, certifications, and compliance
Cost-tracking and documentation across the full project lifecycle
Contributing to process improvements and supplier standardisation
We’re looking for someone who has:
Proven purchasing experience within a small-to-medium engineering or manufacturing organisation
A full-project mindset: from specification through to delivery
Strong understanding of BOMs and the ability to read technical/engineering drawings
Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills
Strong organisation, accuracy, and communication
Familiarity with Planergy and MS Office (especially MS Project) is a plus
