Project Audio Engineer - Product Development

The Acoustics team develops hearing protection, communication, noise reduction, and ultrasound devices and systems for military and commercial applications. The group specializes in acoustic data acquisition and analysis, along with underwater acoustics, vibrational systems, and simulation and modeling.

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Lead Engineer for our Advanced Technologies group. The role involves working on diverse projects across research areas, including commercial, military, and medical technologies. Innovation and technical problem solving are key aspects of this position, which requires productive collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Experience in developing both hardware and software for embedded systems is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  1. Serve as an individual contributor and lead a project team.
  2. Take ownership of project success and maintain customer relationships.
  3. Perform experiments independently and inventively.
  4. Identify and manage project schedules and risks.
  5. Document project progress.

Desired Qualifications

  1. Proven ability to self-manage across multiple projects as a contributing team member.
  2. Proven ability to lead a small group of cross-functional engineers on technical projects.
  3. Interest in and experience spanning multiple technical disciplines to solve complex problems.
  4. Experience in both analog and digital signal processing.
  5. Experience in control system design and modeling.
  6. Experience in audio engineering and acoustics.
  7. Ability to model and analyze circuits and systems.
  8. Experience with schematic and PCB design (Altium expertise is a plus).
  9. Experience with embedded microcontrollers and programming.

Education and Experience

  1. BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Acoustics, or a closely related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
  2. 5+ years of experience in product design, prototype fabrication, and testing is desired.
