A leading architectural firm is seeking a Project Architect to focus on Data Centre and Mission Critical projects. The candidate will collaborate with design teams and clients to manage design activities and ensure compliance with building regulations. Qualifications

Project Architect Mission Critical

HDR is seeking a Project Architect to work on projects in various sectors, with a focus on Data Centre and Mission Critical projects. The successful candidate will work closely with multi-disciplinary design teams, clients, and contractors throughout our Global Practice, with a focus in the United Kingdom and European regions.

As a Project Architect, you will be responsible for:

  • Knowledge in technical design concepts, design management skills, digital technologies, and design workflow
  • Performing layout and detailing on architectural projects
  • Establishing owner/client and internal meetings and participating in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
  • Managing and undertaking design activities and the production of design information
  • Conducting work sessions at project sites in conjunction with Project Manager and other disciplines
  • Reviewing architectural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines
  • Performing QA/QC and technical reviews
  • Writing and editing architectural specifications
  • Coordinating with and assisting affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders
  • Incorporating agreed-upon changes into project documents
  • Providing construction contract administration as needed
  • Performing other duties as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or closely related field
  • Registered Architect (ARB Registered Architect)
  • Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process
  • Must have experience in preparation and layout of architectural contract documents and specifications
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated graphic presentation skills
  • Understanding and experience of various building contracts
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations and good planning skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Architecture
  • Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience working with Data Centre/ Mission Critical projects
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effective facilitation with client and multidisciplinary team
  • Exceptional aptitude for managing busy workloads efficiently and effectively
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule)
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, and 3-D Studio Max (not required)
  • Rhino and Grasshopper experience
