Project Architect Mission Critical
HDR is seeking a Project Architect to work on projects in various sectors, with a focus on Data Centre and Mission Critical projects. The successful candidate will work closely with multi-disciplinary design teams, clients, and contractors throughout our Global Practice, with a focus in the United Kingdom and European regions.
As a Project Architect, you will be responsible for:
- Knowledge in technical design concepts, design management skills, digital technologies, and design workflow
- Performing layout and detailing on architectural projects
- Establishing owner/client and internal meetings and participating in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
- Managing and undertaking design activities and the production of design information
- Conducting work sessions at project sites in conjunction with Project Manager and other disciplines
- Reviewing architectural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines
- Performing QA/QC and technical reviews
- Writing and editing architectural specifications
- Coordinating with and assisting affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders
- Incorporating agreed-upon changes into project documents
- Providing construction contract administration as needed
- Performing other duties as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or closely related field
- Registered Architect (ARB Registered Architect)
- Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process
- Must have experience in preparation and layout of architectural contract documents and specifications
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated graphic presentation skills
- Understanding and experience of various building contracts
- Strong knowledge of building regulations and good planning skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Architecture
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience working with Data Centre/ Mission Critical projects
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effective facilitation with client and multidisciplinary team
- Exceptional aptitude for managing busy workloads efficiently and effectively
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule)
- Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, and 3-D Studio Max (not required)
- Rhino and Grasshopper experience
