Job description

Helix Design Group, a division of Shive-Hattery's Tacoma, WA office, has an immediate opening for a Mid-Level Architect.

Required Experience:
  • Mid-level position with at least 5 to 10 years' experience in architecture.
  • Completion of an accredited professional degree program (bachelor’s or master’s in architecture), with registration as an architect.
  • Ability to manage and supervise project teams of architects, engineers, and designers on medium to large projects.
  • Strong aptitude in critical and creative thinking related to design.
  • Comprehensive understanding of architectural specifications, international building codes, life safety codes, and ADA requirements.
  • Knowledge of programming, planning, building materials, and systems performance.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Revit, Microsoft Office; knowledge of Google SketchUp is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in design and project management, including discussions, collaboration, drawing, modeling, and 3D imaging.
  • Lead and coordinate design teams, including non-licensed professionals.
  • Create graphical images and detailed designs in Revit.
  • Attend project and client meetings for business development and project execution.
