Project Application Engineer

Job description

To deliver process control system solutions. This is a hands-on engineering role to deliver SCADA and process control systems. The scope includes all phases of project delivery including obtaining user requirements, documentation, configurations, testing, commissioning and training.

Responsibilities:

1. Liaise with customers to help define system requirements.
2. Generate detailed system design of automation systems to include enclosures, networking, instrumentation and supervisory systems.
3. Generate Functional and Test Specifications.
4. Procure project equipment.
5. Implement control and SCADA application software.
6. Carry out system tests.
7. Provide commissioning assistance.
8. Provide technical and sales support.
9. Work as a team member and ensure effectiveness of work completion using smart objectives.
10. Interface with Technical Support and Field Service Engineers, reporting on follow-up of projects.
11. Coach and mentor junior team members.
12. Conduct customer off-site visits.

Skills required:

1. Strong business and technical mind-set.
2. Proven track record in implementing control systems and providing related services.
3. Experience of Aveva System Platform and scripting is desirable.
4. Computer literate.
5. Ability to converse with customers and colleagues from a variety of levels within their respective organisations.
6. Responsible attitude and committed to producing a high standard of work.
