Job Title: Project Accountant - 12-month FTC

Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Up to £45,000 depending on skills and experience

What you'll be doing:

  • Responsible for the delivery of all core project accounting deliverables for a major element of the Dreadnought Programme whilst ensuring effective financial challenge, governance and support to the programme teams
  • Working with the Dreadnought Project Management Organisation (PMO) lead for your area to deliver robust forecasts into the Monthly Management Reporting (MMR) process and supporting the project teams to ensure financial commitments are met.
  • Working with the Project to ensure quarterly Contract Status Reports are produced, reflecting an accurate financial representation of the programme.
  • Continuous improvement of financial processes/practices & governance activities
  • Working with the internal and external stakeholders including the MOD, Project and Commercial teams, Supply Chain teams and Central Finance regularly
Your skills and experiences:

Essential
  • Part Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) or equivalent
  • Accounting and financial management experience, working in a variety of roles including working within a project finance environment
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Excel and other MS packages
Desirable
  • Understanding of business and financial modelling experience
  • Experience of influencing across functions and hierarchies
  • Experience within a similar Defence environment/role would be highly advantageous

This exciting finance role provides the opportunity to manage various financial aspects of the programmes, with the aim that you experience all core project accounting roles and processes. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
