Qualifications

At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as a Project Accountant at one of our Warrington, Bristol, Rosyth, or Clyde sites.

The role

As a Project Accountant, you will be an integral member of our team, responsible for improving the accuracy and visibility of lifecycle reporting within a Nuclear Defence Support programme.

Your daily responsibilities will include leading financial elements of projects, providing financial reporting such as margins, forecasting, cash flow, management accounts, budgets, costs, margins, accruals, and journals, and collaborating with the central finance team.

  • Review & consolidate EAC at project level, including net profit
  • Oversee monthly supply chain cost accruals/VOWD and revenue recognition
  • Create accurate financial forecasts based on project data
  • Manage invoicing and track payments
  • Develop and maintain project baseline budgets and control account plans
  • Manage cost risk budgets and input into risk management
  • Monitor and validate project accruals and commitments
  • Control financial change management and ensure contractual alignment
  • Provide financial performance and cost reports, including earned value and variation analysis

This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, with hybrid working (2-3 days in-office, 2-3 days remote).

Essential experience

  • Understanding of project controls and interaction with cost engineers, planners, and project managers
  • Experience with large, complex programmes, preferably in nuclear, oil and gas, or construction sectors
  • Experience managing project control outputs
  • SAP experience is highly desirable

Qualifications

  • CIMA qualified accountant with post-qualification experience
  • ACA or ACCA considered

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain BPSS security clearance.
