Job Title: Project Accountant

Location: Plymouth, Devon or Stoke Gifford, Bristol + Hybrid Working Arrangements

Compensation: £43,935.00 + Benefits

The Role

As a Project Accountant, you'll be at the heart of financial performance across our nuclear business. This is a dynamic and impactful role where your insights will help drive strategic decisions and resource management. You'll work closely with Project Managers and senior leaders, providing accurate, timely financial information that supports effective control and delivery across our Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) projects.

Day-to-day, you'll play a critical role in driving financial performance and enabling proactive management of resources within the business.

  • Producing and analysing monthly accounts in line with reporting timetables
  • Maintaining data integrity and audit trails for internal and external audits
  • Creating monthly and quarterly GFE status packs for management review
  • Raising customer invoices accurately and on time, aligned with contract terms
  • Providing supporting documentation for invoicing, including VOWDs and audit evidence

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Project Accountant
  • Delivering financial reporting and analysis in a project-based environment
  • Using Excel to a high standard for financial modelling and reporting
  • Communicating effectively across all levels of a business
  • Managing multiple priorities with strong organisational skills
  • Maintaining high standards and attention to detail
Qualifications for the Project Accountant
  • Fully qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA (part-qualified candidates may also be considered)
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
