Hays Accountancy & Finance is partnering with a leading, rapidly growing, and successful group within an interesting sector to recruit a dynamic and hands-on Project Accountant for their offices in Ross-On-Wye, Herefordshire. This is a newly created growth role reporting directly to the Financial Controller, working within a close-knit accounting team. The role focuses on providing key financial information on projects to support senior management decision-making. Open to part-qualified/qualified finance professionals, candidates qualified by experience, or Management Accountants looking to add value in a commercial project finance role.

Your new role

Key duties include ensuring projects are financially and commercially robust, capturing and reporting all income, and analyzing customer profitability and margins. The role involves controlling costs, working with operational teams to drive efficiency, supporting month-end processing, year-end audits, budgeting, reporting, cash flow management, and process improvements. You will also partner with stakeholders to ensure commercial targets are met.

What you'll need to succeed

Applicants should have experience in a similar role, strong communication skills, proficiency with financial systems and MS Excel, and keen attention to detail. A self-starter with a positive, proactive approach is essential. Part-qualified/qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience candidates are suitable. Experience in an international business, project accounting, and Sage 50 is advantageous but not essential.
