Job summary

The Project Accountant will join the Finance Department on a six-month contract in Portsmouth, delivering accurate financial reporting and robust internal controls to support the business. You will redesign monthly management accounts, VAT, treasury and cashflow reporting, and salary sacrifice lease calculations, while driving continuous improvement and providing strategic financial insights.

Compliance with Enhanced Security Clearance will be required.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACCA/CIMA accountant with leasing experience.
• Extensive experience in a finance or management accounting role.
• Strong technical accounting background, ideally in a leasing environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrable experience in financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.

We are looking for an experienced Project Accountant to join our Finance Department working on a six-month contract basis.

The role in a nutshell:

The Project Accountant plays a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting. This role is responsible for ensuring robust financial controls, improving internal processes, and providing strategic financial insights. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement and supporting the company's financial health.

A bit about the Finance Department:

The Finance Department is responsible for maintaining the financial health of the business, ensuring effective risk management, financial reporting, and credit control. The team supports strategic decision-making through accurate forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis.

Essential:

Key Experience & Skills:

• Qualified ACCA/CIMA accountant.
• Extensive experience in a finance or management accounting role.
• Strong technical accounting background, ideally in a leasing environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrable experience in financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.

Desirable:

• Experience working in an FCA-regulated environment.
• Experience using SAP and Sofico Miles.
• Knowledge of technical leasing accounting.
• 3-5 years PQE
