Job summary

Technify Talent Limited is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join a growing technology business in Reading, Berkshire. The role focuses on owning project financial performance, collaborating with Project Managers and commercial teams to drive profitability and informed decision-making.

You will help implement a new ERP system and improve financial processes, reporting, and automation while ensuring compliance with IFRS 15 revenue recognition and milestone billing.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) or significant relevant experience.
• Experience in project accounting or finance business partnering.
• Good understanding of IFRS 15 revenue recognition and project financial management.

Responsibilities

• Manage project finances across full lifecycle: budgeting, forecasting, cost control and margin analysis.
• Support commercial bids, pricing models and financial risk assessments.
• Produce accurate project financial reports and identify overruns, risks and opportunities.
• Oversee revenue recognition, project billing and payment milestones (IFRS 15).
• Partner with Project Managers and commercial teams to provide financial guidance and improve commercial awareness.
• Support ERP implementation and improvements to financial processes and reporting.

Project Accountant

About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Project Accountant to join an innovative and growing technology business in Reading.

This is a commercially focused finance role where you will take ownership of project financial performance, working closely with Project Managers, Business Development and Commercial teams to manage costs, improve profitability and support financial decision-making.

You will also play an important role in improving financial processes and supporting the implementation of a new ERP system.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage project finances across the full lifecycle, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control and margin analysis.
• Support commercial bids, pricing models and financial risk assessments.
• Produce accurate project financial reports, identifying cost overruns, risks and opportunities.
• Oversee revenue recognition (IFRS 15), project billing and payment milestones.
• Partner with Project Managers and commercial teams, providing financial guidance and improving commercial awareness.
• Support ERP implementation and improvements to financial processes, reporting and automation.

Skills & Experience Required

• Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) or significant relevant experience.
• Strong background in project accounting, commercial finance or finance business partnering.
• Experience within engineering, technology, defence or other project-driven environments.
• Good understanding of project financial management, forecasting and IFRS 15 revenue recognition.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems such as IFS, SAP or Oracle advantageous.
• Strong communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience supporting bids, pricing or commercial contracts desirable.
• Must be eligible for UK security clearance.
