About the Role

We are seeking a project accountant (12-month maternity cover) to join our PSO team. In this role, you will report to the Head of Group Finance to provide project accounting services to NRC's regions, ensuring efficient and effective financial management of time and projects.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project managers to produce sales invoices, including supporting documentation in alignment with contractual terms.
  • Prepare financial information, including cash flow forecasts, for NRC\'s period-end Management Accounts and Cash Tracker to enhance management\'s understanding of business performance.
  • Produce periodic global project reports to analyse project performance, providing insightful feedback to project managers and senior stakeholders for timely anomaly identification and correction.
  • Provide project audit support by preparing financial and operational evidence for internal and external audits.
  • Assume responsibility for posting accruals and prepayments specific to the regions, ensuring alignment with the budget and adherence to IFRS and local accounting rules.
  • Reconcile relevant general ledger balances with supporting ledgers and reports to maintain financial reporting accuracy.
  • Set up and adjust existing project structures as directed by the Project Manager to meet billing and time management requirements.
  • Thoroughly review weekly timesheets, coordinating corrections as necessary to ensure accurate time cost reporting. Review resource forecasts to support the management information dashboard.
  • Own the debtor tracking process by maintaining a centralised log of aged receivables, initiating follow-ups, escalating delays, and collaborating with Finance and Operations to resolve disputes and ensure timely collections aligned with contractual terms.
What We Are Looking For
  • Familiar with revenue recognition and project accruals accounting.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, effectively communicating with individuals at all organizational levels, both financial and non-financial.
  • Inquisitive self-starter who takes ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Excellent team player experienced in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate specific regional support (Australia and the Middle East).
  • Experience working with accounting software and Enterprise Resource Planning systems.
  • Experience working with international or multi-location teams, demonstrating an understanding of global finance practices and regulations.
