We are in the process of recruiting for a Project Accountant to join a high-growth, successful business based in Braintree. This is a great opportunity for someone to partner with the Finance Director helping to lead and manage key projects by providing key analysis, reports and data from a range of duties covering cost, spend, profit and financial analysis.

Our client is offering a competitive salary up to £45,000 dependent on experience, study support & onsite along with a clear route for progression throughout the finance department and much more!

Responsibilities:
As a Project Accountant, you will…

  • Contribute to the preparation of project budgets and forecasts, and support the tracking of costs across multiple sites
  • Monitor expenditures against budgets
  • Track and validate project-related expenses
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure cost allocation and financial control throughout each project's cycle
  • Support the calculation and recognition of project revenue
  • Ensure timely project billing and accurate revenue recognition based on milestones and customer agreements
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project accounting records, including the posting of invoices, costs, and revenue entries
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations, reporting, and accruals
  • Generate periodic reports
  • Conduct routine financial audits to ensure data accuracy and reduce risk exposure
  • Manage financial reporting to all stakeholders
