Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Project Accountant on behalf of a large and respected organisation in the housing sector. This is a 2 year fixed-term role ideal for an accountant with strong business process improvement or project experience with a track record of driving process improvements. You'll play a key role in reviewing and enhancing financial systems, reporting processes, and cross-functional collaboration.

THE JOB
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance, you will lead and support initiatives aimed at streamlining financial procedures, enhancing reporting capabilities, and preparing the organisation for a new finance system. This role involves extensive stakeholder engagement and offers the chance to contribute to long-term operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the review and improvement of finance systems and processes
  • Scope and document requirements for a new finance system
  • Deliver training to finance staff and produce updated process documentation
  • Enhance BI reporting and support additional budget monitoring initiatives
  • Improve statutory accounts, budgeting, and management accounts processes
  • Recommend and implement automation solutions where applicable
  • Collaborate with teams to improve budget data collection
THE PERSON
  • Qualified or Qualified by experience accounting background
  • Proven recent experience in process improvement within finance
  • Demonstrable success in implementing system or process changes
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills; experience with VBA and Power Automate a plus
  • Familiarity with business intelligence reporting tools
THE OFFER
  • 2-Year FTC / Salary of £45,000 p.a.
  • Flexible hybrid working (approx. 50/50)
