Job description

Responsible for the architecture, design, configuration, development, deployment, and maintenance of multiple Progress OpenEdge RDBMS 4GL based installations of a Financial Management System.

  1. Demonstrated 5 to 10 years' experience developing, implementing, and supporting Client Server solutions using Progress OpenEdge 4GL and RDBMS on Microsoft Windows Servers.
  2. Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  3. Experience interfacing with Microsoft Office from Progress 4GL.
  4. Experience consuming Web Services.
  5. Knowledge of basic accounting principles including Financial Reporting.
  6. Knowledge of Fixed Asset Registers including depreciation, asset tracking, and annual reporting.
  7. Experience implementing Fathom Replication.
  8. Knowledge of Windows Server platforms, especially permissions, installing Progress RDBMS, designing Database monitors, and alerting.
  9. Experience interfacing with other Financial Management applications, especially Oracle Financials and SEPA banking payment systems.
  10. Experience working in a managed service environment.
  11. Working knowledge of ITSM tools.
  12. ITIL knowledge is preferable, with a strong understanding of Incident and Change Management.
  13. Strong documentation and written communication skills.
