Job description


We are seeking to appoint various dedicated and motivated Progress Coaches to join Orbital South Colleges Group on a Term Time basis.

As a Progress Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting students to achieve their academic and personal goals. You will work closely with Study Programme students, providing guidance, mentorship, and resources to help them overcome obstacles and succeed in their educational journey.

Working closely with the Director of Learning, Programme Manager and the rest of the team, you will have the opportunity to support students in their learning and creating positive and trusting relationships with young people. You will implement intervention strategies, set improvement plans and progress targets whilst working on retention strategies for learners. As part of your role, you will work closely with the safeguarding team to ensure constant communication around vulnerable learners and monitor and track all students on caseload.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Maths & English GCSE / Level 2 equivalent
  • Experience working with disengaged young people
  • Experience with young people experiencing SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties)
  • Good IT skills (in particular Microsoft Packages)
  • Excellent communication and written skills
  • Qualification in relation to youth work, child psychology, social work, or teaching and learning is desirable
