Job description

We have an amazing opportunity here at nDreams for an aspiring Programmer to join the team for a week this year. You will have the opportunity to work on real projects, with industry veterans, experts and newcomers alike to get a real oversight as to how our immersive VR games come to fruition.

The rundown:

  • 1-week work experience

  • In person placement at our Farnborough Studio

What you will get up to:

  • Shadowing senior programmers to understand workflows and development pipelines.
  • Assisting with bug fixing and testing across platforms.
  • Participating in daily stand-ups and sprint planning sessions.
  • Helping document systems or processes for internal use.
  • Experimenting with small prototypes or gameplay tweaks.
  • Observing and contributing to code reviews.
  • Asking questions, taking feedback, and growing technical confidence.

What you will need:

  • A foundational understanding of programming, gained through study, projects, or self-led learning.
  • A genuine interest in the games industry and curiosity about how games are made.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges with a positive attitude.
  • Punctuality and reliability – arriving on time and ready to participate each day.
  • Respectful communication and professional behaviour in a studio environment.
  • The desire and willingness to upskill yourself and learn new skills.
  • Basic computer literacy (e.g. navigating files, using email, typing).

The nice-to-haves:

  • Some awareness of different roles in game development
  • A portfolio or examples of work.
