The role
As a Programme Procurement Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Enhance the future of submarine capabilities with your strategic supply chain expertise. Support the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and its partners in advancing next-generation submarine technology, improving availability, and optimising through-life performance of in-service submarines.

Day to day, you’ll drive procurement and supply chain by leading a team of professionals to manage every stage of the contract lifecycle - from pre-contract and mobilisation to execution and through-life support. Ensure seamless delivery of strategic procurement outcomes while optimising performance and efficiency.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Build strong supplier relationships and optimise subcontract lifecycle
  • Lead and mentor a high performing procurement team
  • Drive innovation and minimise supply chain risk
  • Provide strategic insights through performance and risk reporting

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Programme Procurement Manager

  • Expertise in strategic supply chain planning, transformation, or global sourcing in regulated environments
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Commercial awareness with a focus on supply chain risk mitigation
  • Proven track record in driving supply chain improvements
  • Skilled in negotiating complex supplier terms and conditions

  • MCIPS accreditation
