Overview

We are looking to appoint a Programme Officer for the NIHR funded INSIGHT (Inspiring Students into Research) programme for the Southwest Central region, spanning from Gloucestershire to Dorset. The NIHR INSIGHT programme delivers an innovative engagement programme to attract health and care professionals into research careers and to provide Research Masters training to health and social care professionals. UWE Bristol and Bournemouth University will work with partner organisations to deliver the NIHR INSIGHT programme for the region. You will be a key member of the Southwest Central INSIGHT programme team, contributing to successful delivery and achievement of the programme outcomes.

You will contribute to effective programme management, develop and deliver administrative processes, and maintain and build partnership relationships for programme delivery. This post provides a unique opportunity to work across Higher Education Institutes and with external partners for the duration of the programme. This post is part-time (15 hours per week) and fixed term for 22 months. It is available for immediate appointment.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to effective programme management and develop/deliver administrative processes for the Southwest Central INSIGHT programme.
  • Maintain and build partnership relationships to enable delivery of the programme.
  • Collaborate across Higher Education Institutes and with external partners for the duration of the programme.
  • Work with the team to ensure successful delivery and achievement of programme outcomes.
Qualifications and skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and IT skills, with experience in website management or web-based tools preferred.
  • Knowledge of effective administrative processes and project management, with the ability to manage multiple workflows.
  • Ability to use initiative to manage workload and activities.
  • Experience of working in higher education institutes and knowledge of health-related educational or research environments would be advantageous.
Additional information

As the Southwest Central INSIGHT programme will be delivered by UWE Bristol and Bournemouth University, there is flexibility to be based at either institution. You will be employed by UWE Bristol and hybrid and online working will be part of this role. If Bristol based, the post is based at Glenside Campus. We offer a wide range of employee benefits. This is a part-time, fixed-term post until 31 July 2027, working 15 hours per week. This post is not available on a job share basis. This role is campus based for at least 50 percent of your time, with the opportunity to work from home on the remaining days. Salary is £34,610 to £38,784 per annum pro rata to part-time hours (Grade F). The University has a legal responsibility to ensure that all employees are eligible to work in the UK.
