Programme Manager - DV Cleared

  • Location: Farnborough (2/3 days per week onsite)
  • Type: Permanent
  • Salary: £85,000 - £100,000 + Benefits
  • Clearance: Minimum of DV clearance with UKSV.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to join a growing SME operating within the defence sector, supporting the expansion of its Air & Space portfolio. This role will be pivotal in overseeing the governance and successful delivery of key programmes and projects within the sub-portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Programme Leadership: Oversee the full lifecycle of technology programmes, ensuring alignment with both business goals and client expectations. Ensure compliance with internal business processes and policies.
  • Strategic Planning: Define and implement comprehensive programme plans, covering scope, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with internal teams, clients, senior leadership, and external partners.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard programme delivery.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and report on progress using key performance indicators (KPIs), providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Team Coordination: Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, procurement, finance, and other departments. Offer guidance and mentorship to programme and project teams.
  • Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with relevant industry standards, legal requirements, and security protocols, including ITAR and export controls.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive enhancements in processes, tools, and methodologies to improve efficiency and outcomes.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in programme and project management within a defence technology environment.
  • Strong knowledge of defence digital technologies, industry regulations, and procurement frameworks.
  • Experience working with emerging and innovative technologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, with certifications such as Agile, PRINCE2, or APMP.
  • In-depth understanding of Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management (P3M) principles.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex programmes/projects simultaneously while balancing competing priorities.
  • Experience in budget management and financial oversight.
  • Must hold DV (Developed Vetting) security clearance.
