Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Programme Manager to join the Operations and Portfolio team in Bristol. The role focuses on delivering complex Systems and Controls work packages, developing integrated plans and managing budgets through the full project lifecycle.

This hybrid role combines on-site collaboration with remote work, requiring about three days per week in the office. You will integrate with engineering delivery teams for on-time, cost-conscious and high-quality outputs, spanning in-service

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification is required.
• Membership of APMP or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience with systems and software development lifecycles (V/W model).
• Experience leading programmes through certification and introduction into service.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute ICs projects within Engineering Development programmes.
• Deliver projects to cost, schedule and quality throughout the lifecycle.
• Establish, develop and maintain project documentation and plans.
• Develop, administer and integrate project plans in Primavera P6 with the master schedule.
• Capture, monitor and report status; manage stakeholder relationships.

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Programme Manager to join the Operations and Portfolio team in support of the Electrical, Electronics, Software Control System Design and Product Cyber Security (Integrated Control Systems) organisation. Reporting to the Engineering Technology & Safety (ET&S) organisation, the successful candidate will be accountable for the delivery of complex Systems and Controls work packages. Developing integrated plans, managing extensive budgets, whilst ensuring deliverables meet quality and cost through entire project life cycle. In Integrated Control Systems (ICS) programme management we are fully integrated with the engineering delivery teams to ensure the on-time, to cost and quality of our projects. These projects can range from existing in-service improvements to next generation New Product Introduction (NPI) and technology development.

What You Will Be Doing

In this role you will be responsible for the planning and execution of ICs projects for Engineering Development programmes.

• Accountable for the successful delivery to cost, specification and time for a defined package of work.
• Establish, develop and maintain the documentation necessary to deliver the group of deliverables.
• Development, administration and maintenance of the project plans in Primavera P6 and integrating with the programme master schedule.
• Capturing, monitoring, and reporting of status of the full project lifecycle, including managing effective customer relationships.
• Make programme management decisions and manage stake holders.
• Develop / implement Project Management best practice in line with company management processes, including continuous improvement techniques to ensure business efficiencies and lean practices.

Role

They are the fundamental qualities that we seek for all roles. And for this role, we are looking for someone who is/has:

• Degree level qualification and preferably member of the Association of Programme Management or equivalent.
• Demonstrable experience of working in a relevant discipline.
• Desirable Knowledge and experience of Systems and Software development lifecycle (V or W model), ideally with experience of working within an agile or waterfall software development project.
• Experience of leading programmes / products through certification and introduction into service.
• Good general IT skills with a strong understating MRP Primavera P6, MS Excel, data warehouse systems and reporting tools
• The role will require an individual with a blend of analytical, interpersonal, presentation, negotiation and project management skills.
