Job summary

AIRBUS Defence and Space Limited is seeking a Programme Manager for the Onesat programme, leading the Payload Major Module. The role reports into the Onesat leadership team and supports a highly capable team delivering a software-defined satellite that can be reconfigured in orbit.

You will manage a team of specialists (~10 direct reports), align efforts with commitments, and ensure external customer satisfaction with transparent progress.

Qualifications

• Experience in programme leadership with direct reports.
• Familiarity with financial planning, CBS/WBS, risk & opportunity management.
• Ability to operate in a fluid, collaborative environment and communicate effectively across teams.

• Guide experts on when to lead and when to be hands-on.

About the role...

Due to promotion, we are looking for a Programme Manager who will be part of the Onesat programme leadership team and responsible for the Payload Major Module. Onesat is the world's first software-defined satellite that can be fully reconfigured in orbit. The previous post holder has been promoted within the Onesat programme and will be able to provide support.

How you will contribute to the team...

• Develop an understanding of your programme embedded team (~10 direct reports), when to encourage your experts to take the lead and when they need direction
• Enable the programme’s success in line with overall commitments including specification, financial coverage, Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS), Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Risk & Opportunity management and schedule management
• Ensure overall external customers’ satisfaction is met and they continue to have full transparency on the programme progress
• Constantly focus on operational OTOQOC

  • Telecommunications operations, mobile and network providers
  • Satellite manufacturing
  • High tech, mass manufacturing
• Open and approachable Manager who is passionate about developing and supporting your team, including managing up, rationalising business information and assessing what is relevant to communicate to your team
• Comfortable working within a fluid environment, with a lot of moving parts, happy to ask for support from the wider team
• Interested in a high visibility role, using new and best technologies to support the future of space
