Job summary

Sigma Group, established over two decades, seeks a Programme Manager to lead the operational administration team across the Shared User operation at Copperworks. You will drive people management, performance improvement, and on-time delivery within budget, collaborating with Account Manager and warehouse teams.

You will use KPIs and data to improve service delivery, manage risks, and build strong relationships with customers and suppliers while upholding GDPR and health & safety standards.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths GCSE-level education.
  • Experience leading and developing teams in a fast-paced operation.
  • Experience in warehousing, distribution or stock management.
  • Experience planning workloads and managing budgets.
  • Knowledge of GDPR and health & safety compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the operational administration team.
  • Manage day-to-day people matters incl attendance, holidays and performance.

Outline of role

The Programme Manager isresponsible for leading the operational administration team and overseeing theday-to-day delivery of activity across the Shared User operation. The rolefocuses on people management, operational performance, project delivery andcontinuous improvement, ensuring all work is effectively planned, prioritisedand completed on time, in full and within agreed budgets.

Working closely with theAccount Manager, warehouse teams and key stakeholders, the Programme Managerwill ensure operational risks are proactively identified and managed, costs arecontrolled, and processes are followed consistently. The role is also responsiblefor utilising operational data and KPIs to drive efficiencies, improve servicedelivery and maintain high standards of operational performance.

Main responsibilities
  • Lead, coach anddevelop the operational administration team to achieve business objectives.
  • Manage allday-to-day people matters, including attendance, holidays, performancemanagement, development and formal HR processes where required.
  • Plan, prioritiseand allocate workloads to ensure operational and client requirements aredelivered effectively.
  • Oversee thesuccessful delivery of operational activity and projects, ensuring servicelevels and timescales are achieved.
  • Monitor projectprogress, identify risks and implement mitigation plans to protect service,cost and delivery targets.
  • Support thedelivery of projects within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Monitoroperational and project costs, identify potential overspend and take correctiveaction when required.
  • Coordinateactivities with warehouse operations to ensure the efficient flow of inbound,storage and outbound processes.
  • Maintain stockintegrity and effective inventory control practices.
  • Monitor warehousecapacity and stock volumes to support operational efficiency and spaceutilisation.
  • Reviewoperational KPIs and performance reporting, identifying trends andopportunities for improvement.
  • Ensureoperational reporting is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
  • Develop, maintainand audit operational processes to ensure consistency, compliance and serviceexcellence.
  • Promote adherence to procedures and maintain accurate audit trails.
  • Investigateoperational issues and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Drive continuousimprovement initiatives across people, processes and systems.
  • Build andmaintain effective relationships with customers, suppliers and internalstakeholders.
  • Provideoperational updates, performance information, cost analysis and risk reportingto the Account Manager.
  • Motivate andengage the team to improve productivity, accountability and service standards.
  • Ensure compliancewith company policies, health and safety regulations and GDPR requirements.
Knowledge and experiencerequired
  • Experience withinan operational, warehousing, distribution, stock management or similar environment.
  • Previousexperience leading, managing and developing teams.
  • Experienceplanning and prioritising workloads within a fast-paced operational setting.
  • Understandingofstock control, inventory management and operational processes.
  • Experiencemonitoring budgets, costs and operational performance.
  • Experience usingKPIs, reporting and performance data to support decision-making and continuousimprovement.
  • Knowledge ofcompliance requirements, including health and safety and GDPR.

Qualifications
