Job summary

Atos seeks an experienced Programme Manager to lead large and complex programmes across government and industry. You will deliver on time, within budget, and to high standards, coordinating cross-functional teams and executives.

You'll shape governance, risk, and commercial oversight, mentoring delivery teams and managing stakeholder relationships to achieve strategic outcomes. UK-based with eligibility for SC clearance; remote working is available.

• Proven experience managing large-scale programmes comprising multiple projects, dependencies, and stakeholders.
• Strong governance, risk management, and delivery assurance expertise.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and contract management.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills at executive level.
• Experience leading geographically dispersed, multidisciplinary delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex programmes, ensuring objectives and benefits are achieved.
• Establish and maintain programme governance, reporting, risk management and assurance.
• Manage programme financials, including budgets, forecasting, profitability and commercial commitments.
• Build relationships with customers, executives, suppliers and stakeholders; act as escalation point.
• Coach and develop programme teams; foster accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead the successful delivery of large and complex programmes consisting of multiple interdependent projects and workstreams.

You will be accountable for ensuring programmes are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while achieving agreed business outcomes and contractual commitments. Working closely with customers, delivery teams, PMO functions, suppliers, and executive stakeholders, you will provide strategic leadership, governance, and commercial oversight across the programme lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex programmes, ensuring strategic objectives and business benefits are achieved.
• Establish and maintain effective programme governance, reporting, risk management, and assurance activities.
• Manage programme financial performance, including budgets, forecasting, profitability, and commercial commitments.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, executives, suppliers, and key stakeholders while acting as the primary escalation point.
• Lead, coach, and develop programme teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Demonstrated financial and commercial management experience, including budgeting, forecasting, and contract management.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at executive level.
• Experience leading geographically dispersed, multidisciplinary delivery teams.

Skills We'd Like

• Programme management certification such as MSP®, PMP®, PgMP®, PRINCE2® or equivalent.
• Experience delivering complex digital transformation or technology-enabled change programmes within regulated environments.

Additional Requirements

• Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain SC clearance.
• Location UK-based. Remote working is available, with national mobility required.
