Overview

We are seeking an experienced Programmer Leader to drive innovation and excellence within our engineering team. You will lead by example, combining hands-on programming expertise with strong leadership skills to deliver high-quality solutions. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will define technical strategy, oversee project execution, and mentor developers to achieve their full potential.

Role Details

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in software engineering, system design, and leading agile development practices. This is a key role for someone passionate about technology, problem-solving, and shaping the future of engineering.

We have an exciting opportunity at our Openshaw campus to join our Engineering Digital and Management Department as a Programme Leader Engineering on a fixed term (Until the 30th June 2026), part time (17.5 hours per week) basis.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree or equivalent
  • Current and valid industry specialism
  • Certificate of education or PGCE
  • English and maths minimum level 2 (Grace C or grade 4 and above)
  • Proven track record of effective teaching in delivering in subject specialism or current valid industry specialism
  • Minimum of 3 years' teaching experience or minimum of 3 years current valid industry specialism
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience of leading a team
  • Proven experience of working as a team
  • Proven track record of achieving delivery targets and plans
  • Accurate and timely reports and records
  • Positive contribution to planning & development processes
  • High-quality positive learner satisfaction
