A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a Programme Leader - Engineering Apprenticeships to join our outstanding team.
This is a pivotal leadership role within our Engineering Division, where you'll play a central part in shaping the success of our apprenticeship provision. As part of a high-performing, forward-thinking college group rated Outstanding by Ofsted, you'll be surrounded by passionate and experienced professionals who are committed to delivering high-quality technical education and training.
We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment and has a proven track record of successfully managing apprenticeship delivery. You do not need to be an engineering specialist, but you must bring substantial experience in apprenticeship leadership from onboarding through to End Point Assessment. If you're ready to lead a dynamic team, drive performance, and ensure the very best outcomes for apprentices and employers, this could be the perfect role for you.
Please note: for candidates who bring a strong engineering background and significant industry experience relevant to this role, a market premium payment may be considered.
You will be primarily based at our ARC campus but will work across sites as needed to support team collaboration and quality improvement
What You Will Be Doing:
Leading and managing a team of Training & Development Coaches and Workshop Tutors to deliver outstanding engineering apprenticeships.
Taking strategic responsibility for apprentice progress, quality of delivery, and compliance with all apprenticeship and funding requirements.
Acting as the Lead IQA and Centre Co-ordinator, ensuring high standards in assessment and quality assurance.
Monitoring programme performance against key KPIs such as achievement, retention, and satisfaction, using data to inform early intervention.
Driving continuous improvement through quality processes including SARs, QIPs, audits, and external inspections (e.g. Ofsted, ESFA).
Working collaboratively with cross-college teams including Exams, Functional Skills, and Learning Support to provide a joined-up, learner-focused experience.
Leading on employer engagement and reviews, supporting apprentices and stakeholders through every stage of the learner journey.
Supporting curriculum planning and innovation, aligning provision with employer needs, sector changes, and best practice in teaching and learning.
What We Are Looking For:
A qualified assessor and IQA with demonstrable experience of leading high-quality apprenticeship provision.
Strong working knowledge of apprenticeship standards, funding rules, EPA processes, and Ofsted requirements.
A confident and credible leader with a track record of managing teams, coaching staff, and delivering results.
Experience using digital systems (e.g. OneFile, ILR, e-portfolios, spreadsheets) to track and improve learner progress.
Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to influence, motivate and engage a wide range of stakeholders.
A passion for apprenticeships and a commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes for learners and employers.
While an engineering background is not essential, you must bring sector knowledge and experience relevant to managing technical apprenticeship programmes.
