Job description

Role: Programme Lead

Sector: Transmission

Location: Ideally Perth, Scotland (Expectation to be in the office infrequently)

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 3-Months + Possible Extension

Rates: £700 - £775 Daily Rate D.O.E Inside IR35 via Umbrella

Clearance: BPSS (DBS/DS, Financial Probity, Employment History) + Medical Questionnaire & Proof of Right to Work in the UK

This temporary Connections Reform Programme Lead will be responsible for the planning, delivery and implementation of the Connections Reform Transformation Programme, implementing strategic industry reforms to the connections process and embedding a new way of working across the clients business unit. This role is specifically related to the immediate requirement to programme manage the industry led changes approved by Ofgem in April 2025.

The postholder of this Programme Lead role will be a leader in their area of expertise, with strong subject matter expertise at its core and will be responsible for the planning and implementation of the transformation of industry reform in connection offers and connections contract delivery across a complex matrix organisation.

The post holder will have the skill to navigate multiple stakeholders to ensure the timely and successful delivery of all project activities relating to the current and anticipated ongoing industry reform, implementing decisions from external industry workgroups and internal workgroups.

The Connections Reform Programme Lead will manage the overall programme of work, including multiple workstreams with simultaneous execution periods and therefore, deep expertise in core project management disciplines, and the ability to work with pace and agility to respond to an ever-changing external environment is an essential skill required. You will have the ability to navigate multiple stakeholders to ensure the timely and successful delivery of all project activities relating to the current and anticipated ongoing industry reform.

This role will involve matrix managing internal subject matter contributors from across the Transmission business, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of connections reform for the client and supporting achievement of net zero goals, in collaboration with external stakeholders, such as; National Electricity System Operator, other Network Operators, Ofgem and the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.
