Job description

ROLE OF THE JOB

As part of the Design Team within the Regeneration Service the role contributes in the delivery of an effective Finance and Programme Management Function. The successful candidate will be part of a seventeen-strong team with a diverse skill set working on a wide range of construction, design, and feasibility projects. This is a finance-based role, but includes other opportunities to work on a variation of other tasks. No working week is the same in this team and our projects contribute to improving community, school, leisure, office and other NCC-owned buildings.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB

  • NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in a business/finance related discipline, or accountancy experience
  • Advanced skills in interrogating financial information systems to provide regular and ad-hoc reporting to mee the needs of the capital programme management team
  • Creating complex spreadsheets, collating and analysing data using office software applications.
  • The ability to assist in the budgetary control process; place orders, attend regular budget monitoring meetings and provide financial advice to enable Project Managers to adhere to approved budgets.
  • Knowledge of compliance with year-end procedures.
  • The ability to calculate slippage and compile creditor schedules for the capital programme.
