Job Description

Location: London or Bristol (hybrid working arrangements) with infrequent travel to France or the Sizewell C site in Suffolk.

Employment type: Permanent full-time/part-time.

Employment basis: The role is expected to be full-time; however, we are open to discussing a more flexible or part-time approach where possible.

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience, plus bonus and other benefits.

Are you ready to play a pivotal role in a transformative UK project? The Sizewell C Technical Directorate (TD) seeks a passionate Programme Engineering Manager for our Civil Works Programme, focusing on the Nuclear Island (NI) structures.

Nuclear Island (NI): The core of a nuclear power plant, housing critical components like the reactor and containment structure, responsible for generating heat and ensuring safety.

Conventional Island (CI): The part that generates electricity, including the boiler, turbine, and generator.

Balance of Plant (BOP): Infrastructure supporting plant operation, such as electrical and cooling systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing the implementation of SZC’s engineering, configuration, and design replication strategy.
  • Supporting interpretation and application of replication and configuration management principles.
  • Implementing strategic engineering requirements, sequences, and methods.
  • Overseeing design and technical issues, serving as the main technical contact.
  • Guiding on responsibilities, deliverables, interfaces, and design scope.
  • Ensuring engineering resources are mobilized for quality, timely design delivery.
  • Discharging the role of Principal Designer under CDM regulations.
  • Managing teams of up to 15 engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Managing design values exceeding £100m.

  • Skills in engineering systems, configuration management, nuclear specs.
  • French language skills are advantageous.
