Leading Broker

Posted: 4 days ago | Location: UK | Experience Required: 10+ years | Salary: Competitive

The Client:

Our client is a rapidly expanding insurance brokerage, renowned for its entrepreneurial approach and innovative solutions. Following a period of significant growth through mergers and acquisitions, they are now embarking on a major transformation program to integrate newly acquired businesses, streamline operations, and consolidate systems and processes. To support this next phase of evolution, they are seeking an accomplished Programme Director to lead strategic change and transformation initiatives across the group.

The Role:
As the Programme Director, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of a high-profile, complex business transformation program. Your primary focus will be on post-merger integration, operational consolidation, and delivering group-wide change initiatives that align with the strategic vision of the business.

This role requires a leader with proven experience managing large-scale change and transformation programs within the insurance sector—particularly those involving M&A activity, integration of business functions, systems harmonisation, and cultural alignment.

You will report directly to the Executive Leadership Team and act as a key driver in delivering business growth, operational efficiencies, and sustainable transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of large-scale business transformation programs, focusing on M&A integration, operational consolidation, and change management.
  • Develop and implement integration strategies for newly acquired entities, ensuring seamless alignment of processes, systems, and cultures across the group.
  • Drive operational efficiencies by consolidating systems, streamlining workflows, and unifying data and reporting platforms.
  • Define and manage program governance frameworks, ensuring clear accountability, reporting, and alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Engage and influence senior stakeholders, including the Board and Executive Leadership Team, providing clear communication on program progress, risks, and outcomes.
  • Manage cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver against key milestones, maintaining focus on business continuity and minimal disruption.
  • Oversee the harmonisation of technology platforms, including data and analytics initiatives, to support business decision-making and future growth.
  • Champion cultural integration, promoting a consistent company vision and values across newly merged businesses.
  • Lead change management initiatives to ensure stakeholder buy-in and effective adoption of new systems and processes.
  • Monitor post-integration success metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Extensive experience as a Programme Director or Senior Transformation Leader within the insurance sector, with specific expertise in managing M&A integration programs.
  • Proven track record delivering complex change initiatives involving consolidation of operations, systems, and data across multi-entity environments.
  • Strong knowledge of post-merger integration strategies, including cultural alignment, process standardisation, and technology unification.
  • Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing Board-level decision-makers.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale programs with competing priorities, tight deadlines, and significant budgets.
  • Deep understanding of change management methodologies and a track record of driving successful organisational adoption.
  • Experience in managing external vendors and partners to ensure alignment with program goals and deliverables.
  • Relevant qualifications in program and project management (MSP, PMP, PRINCE2) and change management (Prosci, ACMP) are highly desirable.

Why will you get?

  • Opportunity to shape the future of a fast-growing and highly acquisitive insurance broker.
  • Lead strategic transformation initiatives that deliver real business value and drive operational excellence.
  • Work directly with a dynamic and ambitious leadership team in an organisation committed to innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package, with flexible working arrangements and long-term career development opportunities.
