We are working with a prominent Welsh children's charity to recruit a dynamic Programme Director to supervise a wide range of projects.
Working closely with the CEO, the Programme Director will manage and coordinate the operational areas of the charity based on company policies, goals, and objectives to ensure an efficient working environment and that deadlines are met. You will supervise teams and lead on progress and performance reporting.
We are looking for a candidate with a strategic mindset who can also lead and develop their team.
Key Tasks
- The Programme Director will assist senior management in establishing the development of the organisation's long-term Business Plan.
- The Programme Director will ensure that the strategic aims and planning of department budgets/objectives are in conjunction and agreed upon by the CEO.
- The Programme Director will be responsible for monitoring workflow, ensuring optimal productivity, performance, milestones, and deadlines are met across the organization.
- The Programme Director will manage the performance and objectives for key staff.
The Programme Director will also be responsible for:
- CRM system - Lamplight
- Fundraising - supporting the fundraising strategy and monitoring/reporting
- Assisting SMT in setting goals that promote company growth aligned with strategic objectives
- Overseeing daily team activities
- Preparing budgets, schedules, and organizational reports
- Devising evaluation strategies to monitor performance and manage team workloads to meet goals and deadlines
- Developing plans to increase efficiency and reduce costs
- Improving existing systems and policies
- Promoting and enforcing workplace safety
- Collaborating with other departments for operational efficiency
- Updating/monitoring policies, coaching employees, and executing plans to meet company goals
- Providing detailed reports and presentations on budgets and bids to management
- Applying change, risk, and resource management principles as needed, and reviewing manager reports to monitor progress
- Ensuring program activities comply with legal guidelines and internal policies
- Possessing knowledge of child protection, safeguarding policies, and procedures, and acting/reporting as necessary

- Signpost young people to further development opportunities
- Coordinate children's and young people's involvement within governance and operations
- Work within organisational policies and guidelines
- Participate in supervision, staff, managerial meetings, and team activities
- Perform other duties as required by the CEO
- Deputise for the Influencing Director in the absence of the CEO
- Occasional evening, weekend, and overnight work may be required
- Undergo an enhanced DBS check prior to appointment
