Job summary

Bright Ascension is seeking an experienced Head of Programme Delivery to shape and oversee a portfolio of customer projects, HELIX product development, and R&D programmes.

Reporting to the COO, you will lead the PMO, establish governance, manage risk, and partner with Engineering, Quality, Customer Experience, IT to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery. The role is full-time with a hybrid Edinburgh base, offering senior leadership exposure.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading complex, interdependent programmes in software/engineering environments.
• Strong ability to create executive dashboards and convert data into insights.
• Experience integrating delivery, product development, and R&D with shared resources.
• Solid planning, RAID, change control, governance, benefits realization.
• Financial management across budgets, forecasts, revenue, margin, costs.
• Demand and capacity planning, cross-functional conflict resolution.
• Experience establishing or maturing a PMO.
• Understanding of SDLC and agile, iterative and predictive delivery.
• Professional programme management qualification (MSP, APM PMQ, ChPP, PRINCE2, PMP) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Portfolio leadership and integration: Manage integrated portfolio across departments.
• Governance and delivery assurance: Establish governance, RAID, dependencies, change control.
• Financial control and benefits: Manage budgets, forecasts, funding and value.
• Resource and capacity coordination: Integrated demand, capacity, and resource planning; resolve conflicts; coach PMs; develop community.
• Stakeholder communication and continuous improvement: Reporting and relationships; improve data and dashboards.
