Programme Coordinator (Inner South NRP Coordinator) - Market Development Association (MDA)
Charity Jobs NI is delighted to be exclusively partnering with the Market Development Association (MDA) to recruit an organised, partnership-oriented Programme Coordinator (Inner South NRP Coordinator). Funded by the Department for Communities (DfC), this role supports the Inner South Belfast Neighbourhood Renewal Partnership (NRP) to deliver its Code of Practice, Strategy and Action Plan.

About the Role

You'll liaise with the NRP Chair and Board, provide technical and secretariat support to the Partnership and its sub-groups, coordinate communications, and help align programmes and projects with agreed outcomes. You will champion collaboration across statutory agencies, community organisations and stakeholders to secure buy-in and deliver impact across Inner South Belfast.

Key Responsibilities
  • NNRP governance and support: Provide secretariat, logistics, minutes and follow-up for Partnership and sub-groups; schedule and support quarterly review meetings with DfC/NRP.
  • Delivery and reporting: Coordinate communications, assist with annual reporting, monitor outcomes and support the roll-out of the Neighbourhood Renewal Action Plan.
  • Engagement and funding: Engage with statutory and non-government funders to leverage investment; organise workshops/seminars and maintain external communications.
  • Community collaboration: Promote cohesion across Inner South Belfast and support MDA office/resident-facing activities as required.
Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Qualifications/experience route: Third-level qualification in a relevant discipline or at least three years' relevant experience in each area below.
  • Programme delivery: Planning and implementation of health, education, regeneration or economic programmes.
  • Committee support: Facilitating communication among committees/organisations; planning and running committee/group meetings.
  • Monitoring and funding: Monitoring progress and outcomes and reporting to management/committees; successfully applying for funding and managing funds and budgets.
  • Engagement and communications: Organising engagement activities (workshops/seminars); maintaining external communication channels with service users, partners and funders (newsletters, social media, reports).
  • Aptitudes: Mature, professional approach; understanding of working in areas of deprivation; leadership and teamwork; able to use own initiative.
  • IT and communication: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, email/internet); able to motivate and encourage others; express ideas coherently; strong presentation skills to residents and partners.
  • Flexibility: Able to work evenings/weekends and travel as required.

Desirable

  • Programme rollout and PR: Understanding and experience of rolling out community programmes; leading PR/communications through social and printed media (e.g., videos, booklets).
  • Multi-sector and finance: Experience working with multi-sector stakeholder groups; project financial management and securing project funding.
  • Additional tools: Use of tools for printed/social media production; ability to write evaluation and monitoring reports to funders.
  • Contextual knowledge: Understanding of urban development processes (planning, roads, housing, economic regeneration) and links between inequalities, lived experience and the built environment.

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Inner South Belfast / MDA (office-based)

Salary: £23,349.70 per annum (gross)

Contract: Fixed-term to 31 March 2026, with strong likelihood of 12-month extension (subject to funding)

Anticipated Start: October 2025
