The KPMG Consulting function is a cornerstone of our business. Operating from London, we do work that matters, serving the country with diligence and expertise.

KPMG is one of the world's largest and most respected consultancies. We've supported the UK through times of war and peace, prosperity and recession, political and regulatory upheaval. We've proudly stood beside the institutions and businesses which make the UK what it is.

By encompassing a wide range of disciplines across a breadth of areas such as Strategy, Forensic, Risk and Regulatory, People and Talent, and Operational and Financial Transformation, we become immersed in our clients' organisations, applying sector knowledge and technology solutions to deliver the best possible outcomes and get it right first time.

Why Join KPMG as a Programme Assurance Manager?

Leadership & Management:

Management of multiple engagements simultaneously, working under a dedicated Senior Manager and/or Director. Leading and coaching junior team members to develop their skills and experience around IPA.

Engaging directly with senior stakeholders on the client side (e.g., Programme Directors and CFOs), clearly articulating risks and recommendations from IPA work. Collaborating with internal senior teams to secure resources, deliver, and obtain sign-off.

Impact, Risk, Accountability & Governance:

Contributing to risk management activities over large, multi-year, multimillion-pound engagements. Ensuring adherence to all KPMG risk processes, especially given the high-risk nature of IPA work.

What will you be doing?

  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end business transformation ERP programmes, including their challenges and assurance requirements.
  • Understanding all critical workstreams such as PMO, business change, business architecture, testing, data, and transition/cutover, and leading focused reviews in these areas.
  • Identifying key risks throughout the programme lifecycle and determining appropriate mitigations to correct course.
  • Converting observations into risks with clear impact statements and practical recommendations (beyond textbook solutions).
  • Managing multiple IPA tasks (stage gates, deep dives, etc.) and aligning them with other client assurance activities, such as IA-driven work. Communicating effectively with internal Q&A teams using appropriate language around 1st/2nd/3rd line defense models.

Leading a junior team to deliver high-quality outputs under pressure, such as health check reports, stage gate reviews, and assessments of client readiness to progress to subsequent stages.
