About KPMG

The KPMG Consulting function is a cornerstone of our business. Operating from London, we do work that matters, serving the country with diligence and expertise.

KPMG is one of the world's largest and most respected consultancies. We've supported the UK through times of war and peace, prosperity and recession, political and regulatory upheaval. We've proudly stood beside the institutions and businesses which make the UK what it is.

By encompassing a wide range of disciplines across areas such as Strategy, Forensic, Risk and Regulatory, People and Talent, and Operational and Financial Transformation, we become immersed in our clients' organisations, applying sector knowledge and technology solutions to deliver the best outcomes and get it right the first time.

Why Join KPMG as a Programme Assurance Manager?

Leadership & Management:

Manage multiple engagements simultaneously for a dedicated Senior Manager and/or Director. Lead and develop junior team members around IPA.

Engage directly with senior stakeholders (e.g., Programme Directors, CFOs), clearly communicate risks and recommendations from IPA work, and collaborate with internal teams to secure resources, deliver, and obtain sign-off.

Impact, Risk, Accountability & Governance:

Contribute to risk management activities over large, multi-year, multimillion-pound engagements. Ensure adherence to all KPMG risk processes, especially given the high-risk nature of IPA work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand end-to-end business transformation ERP programmes, including challenges and assurance requirements.
  • Comprehend critical workstreams such as PMO, business change, architecture, testing, data, and transition, leading focused reviews in these areas.
  • Identify key risks throughout the programme lifecycle and determine appropriate mitigations.
  • Translate observations into risks with clear impacts and practical recommendations.
  • Manage multiple IPA activities (stage gates, deep dives) and coordinate with other assurance activities, communicating effectively with internal Q&A teams.

Lead junior teams to deliver high-quality outputs under pressure, including health check reports, stage gate reviews, and readiness assessments for project progression.
