Job description

Programme Assurance Manager - KPMG - Consulting

The KPMG Consulting function is a cornerstone of our business. Operating from London, we do work that matters, serving the country with diligence and expertise.

KPMG is one of the world's largest and most respected consultancies. We've supported the UK through times of war and peace, prosperity and recession, political and regulatory upheaval. We've proudly stood beside the institutions and businesses which make the UK what it is.

By encompassing a wide range of disciplines across a breadth of areas such as Strategy, Forensic, Risk and Regulatory, People and Talent, and Operational and Financial Transformation, we become immersed in our clients' organisations, applying sector knowledge and technology solutions to deliver the best possible outcomes and get it right first time.

Why Join KPMG as a Programme Assurance Manager?

Leadership & Management:

Management of multiple engagements simultaneously, working for a dedicated Senior Manager and/or Director. Leadership of junior team members to coach and develop their skills and experience around IPA.

Stakeholder Interaction & Challenges:

Engage directly with senior stakeholders on the client side (e.g., Programme Directors and CFOs) and articulate risk and recommendations from IPA work effectively. Collaborate with senior internal teams to secure resources, deliver, and obtain sign-off on work.

Impact, Risk, Accountability & Governance:

Contribute to risk management activities over large, multi-million-pound engagements that may span multiple years. Since IPA work is inherently high-risk, adherence to all KPMG risk processes is essential.

What will you be doing?

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end business transformation ERP programmes, including challenges and assurance requirements.
  • Understand all critical workstreams such as PMO, business change, business architecture, testing, data, and transition, and lead focused reviews in these areas.
  • Identify key risks throughout the programme lifecycle and determine necessary mitigations to keep the project on track.
  • Translate observations into risks with clear impact statements and practical, non-textbook recommendations.
  • Manage multiple IPA activities (stage gates, deep dives, etc.) and coordinate with other assurance activities, including internal QA teams, using appropriate language around 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line assurance.
  • Lead junior team members to produce high-quality outputs under pressure, such as health check reports, stage gate reviews, and readiness assessments for project progression.
