Job description

SAFRAN ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS UK LTD recrute:

I. Job Summary
• To take overall responsibility for the success of assigned Programmes and/or Product Families to ensure that they achieve their stated business objectives, for the full product lifecycle.
• To lead multi-functional teams, coordinate the activities of all staff supporting the assigned activities, fostering a team ethic and facilitating cooperation among all participants.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Programme and Project Management: To be responsible for the successful management of programmes and activities, identifying and managing risks, and taking appropriate steps for successful outcomes.
    • Set clear & agreed objectives.
    • Identify, assess, record, and review risks.
  2. Sales Proposal Validation: To validate sales proposals and technical estimates to ensure acceptability.
    • Ensure full understanding of proposals and estimates.
    • Raise questions for clarification or concern.
    • Prepare the Business Case with the sales team.
    • Obtain proper sign-off and documentation.
  3. Commercial and Financial Oversight: To manage all commercial and financial aspects of programmes or projects.
    • Monitor sales and profit, take remedial actions if needed.
    • Identify cost reduction and profitability improvement opportunities.
    • Highlight areas of concern.
  4. Planning and Communication: To establish and communicate an agreed Plan for the programme.
    • Document plan with milestones and timescales.
    • Collaborate and agree with all programme partners.
    • Ensure plan is understood and widely communicated.
  5. Coordination of Supporting Functions: To coordinate activities of supporting functions and partners.
    • Ensure support and resources from other functions.
    • Manage relationships and coordinate work of partners.
  6. Review Meetings: To arrange and manage regular project review meetings.
    • Organise & chair meetings.
    • Record and ensure completion of actions.
    • Manage project modifications.
  7. Progress Communication: To report programme progress regularly.
    • Provide reports to Programme Director & Senior Managers.
    • Raise concerns timely.
  8. Contract Management: To establish comprehensive contracts for programmes.
    • Discuss contractual requirements early.
    • Ensure effective contracts and regular reviews.
  9. Business Development: To work with Sales and Product Managers in defining and bidding for new projects and maintaining market knowledge.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in program or project management, preferably in the aviation or aerospace industry.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques, such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, Asana).
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet tools (Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets).
