Job description

At ClearSpace, we believe in reusability, in affordability driving disruption, and that no progress is real unless it is sustainable.

Our company was founded in 2018 out of the realization that in-orbit servicing and space debris removal are vital services for the future of space exploration and operations. Today ClearSpace has assembled an expert engineering team and is leading the way toward sustainable space operations. From a garage in Switzerland, we now operate across UK and Europe, and are working with world-leading institutions and companies to bring our dream of a sustainable space ecosystem to life.

Motivated to join us and make a difference beyond earth? We are currently looking for a Program Manager to join the team.

The Role

As we grow and extend our influence across the in-orbit servicing (IoS) ecosystem—we are strenghtening our program management team to ensure that we can deliver world-class missions. This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of a rapidly evolving space industry, contributing to pioneering missions that will define the future of space sustainability.

We’re seeking a Program Manager with proven experience in delivering complex space programs to join our team. In this high-impact role, you’ll take full ownership of end-to-end program delivery—from early concept development through launch, operations, and end-of-life. You'll lead cross-functional teams, manage customer relationships, and ensure that program milestones are met with technical excellence, on time and on budget.

• Client satisfaction and stakeholder trust built through transparency and performance

• Continuous contribution to the scaling and maturing of ClearSpace’s program management practices

Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end execution of space programs, from feasibility studies to mission close-out

• Oversee daily project management activities, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, schedule, and quality

• Own and manage complex contracts with institutional, government, and/or commercial customers

• Collaborate with system architects, technical leads, and engineering teams to ensure mission success

• Manage financial planning, resource allocation, and risk mitigation throughout the program lifecycle

• Supervise subcontractors and procurement processes to meet technical and commercial requirements

• Ensure satellite compatibility and launcher integration within required timelines and performance parameters

• Support new business initiatives including proposals, bids, and contract negotiations

• Contribute to the development and improvement of internal program execution processes

Must Have:

• 8+ years of experience in the spacecraft industry, with at least 3 years in technical or project leadership roles

• Full lifecycle experience with satellite missions, from business development to delivery and operations

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams across engineering and business disciplines

• Deep understanding of LEO, MEO, or GEO spacecraft systems and mission design

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple critical paths concurrently

• Comfortable interacting with institutional, government and/or commercial customers (e.g., UKSA, ESA)

Nice to Have:

• Strong contract negotiation and client-facing experience

• Background in spacecraft systems, AIT, or mission operations

• Experience working in or leading bid and proposal development

• Financial literacy and a strategic mindset

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Knowledge of in-orbit servicing, space debris removal, or satellite operations
