The Village at St Clair located in Windsor, Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a Temporary Full-Time Program for Active Living (PAL) Coordinator to join their Retirement team.

This will be a temporary contract position for approximately 1 year.

Responsibilities
  1. Have a Degree in Kinesiology with a focus on psychomotor behaviour and exercise rehabilitation.
  2. Design and implement innovative cognitive and physical exercise programs for residents, both individually and in groups.
  3. Collaborate with physiotherapists and occupational therapists to ensure resident goals are met.
  4. Complete resident transfer assessments.
  5. Collaborate with external partners to provide exceptional service to residents.
  6. Provide leadership and supervision of Kinesiology Co-Op placements, students, and volunteers assisting with the PAL program.
  7. Facilitate educational sessions such as lift & transfer, body mechanics, and active living.
  8. Display a caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families, and team members.
  9. Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the role.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Registration with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario.
  2. Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation, regulations, and best practices.
  3. Experience and/or desire to provide educational sessions/seminars.
  4. Demonstrated experience working with seniors and/or persons with cognitive or physical impairments.
  5. Experience working in the retirement and long-term care sector (e.g., school placement).
